We offer highly refined products, warm & high quality service & experience to our Employees and Customers. Both Front & Back of the House teams “do care” and pay attention to every details. With our highly skilled pastry team, we produce most beautiful, delicate and unique French high end & unique pastries or entremets, large cakes and events large cakes or smaller pieces. We will provide our future associates to learn French techniques, knowhow and expertise in fine pastry, viennoiseries and bread.

We’re bringing to the Bay Area the French Fine Pastry experience by creating, producing and sharing our Cakes, Entremets, Viennoiseries and Breads, using the freshest, purest ingredients from France or California mostly.

Key responsibilities: The Assistant Pastry Chef will participate to all Maison Alyzee production of breads, viennoiseries & fine pastry products in an orderly manner. The Assistant Pastry Chef will be responsible for some components of our production process: carefully trained to French high pastry techniques.

  • Prepare fine pastries, viennoiseries & other bread products for corporate and retail operations in accordance with internal quality standards using organic local flours and other mostly French or Italian imported ingredients
  • Execute swiftly with the highest quality standard all productions
  • Plans, delegates and follows up on expected tasks, assignments and activities to ensure expectations and objectives are met
  • Maintains a high degree of personal integrity and inspires a team with the same values
  • Propose and communicate with the Executive Chef on new recipes proposals
  • Participate to inventory management and Ordering process
  • Review the production planning timely
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

  • Ability to oversee a high end operating pastry & bakery, including working weekends, nights and holidays
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Ability to work with our bread oven, convection oven and other equipment such commercial spiral mixer
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. (Required)

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in bread &/or pastry production
  • experience in French bakery &/or pastry is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, is a plus
  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program highly preferred

Compensation: will be based on experience
