Position Title: Assistant Golf Professional

FLSA: Full-time position

PGA Affiliation: Pacific Northwest Section/Western Washington Chapter PGA

Compensation: $65,000 a year plus lesson income estimated $2,500 – 5,000 additionally

Reports to: Head Golf Professional

Position begins: 5/1/2023

Nestled in one of the Northwest's finest residential areas of Medina, Washington, Overlake Golf & Country Club is the ultimate family club in Western Washington. Originally established in 1927 on the site, the Arthur Vernon Macan-designed, 18-hole golf course provides a challenging yet fair test of golf and has hosted many regional championships. The existing club was founded in 1927 and the traditional layout is easy to walk and enjoyed by club members of all ages and abilities. Overlake Golf & Country Club offers an extensive program of golf, social, dining, tennis and swimming activities with an emphasis on camaraderie and family. The golf and social memberships are limited which provides maximum access to the golf course, clubhouse, pool and tennis courts. The club is renowned for its outstanding junior golf, swimming and tennis programs.

Job Summary:

To assist our golf professionals in providing a complete quality member service to our Overlake Golf and Country Club members and their guests by creating a great golf experience on our golf course.

Job Responsibilities:

· Private club or high-end resort experience

· Entry level or higher within the PGA program

· Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment and have flexibility in responsibilities and duties

· Proven detail-orientation

· Strong dedication to exceeding member and guest expectations

· Dedicated to club service standards and mission, vision, core values and commitments

· Demonstrated ability to manage and execute all functions of tournament operations

· Passion for working with junior golf and being active in growing the game

· Candidate must be open to a flexible work schedule and have open availability

Requirements:

· Associate or Bachelor’s degree a plus preferred

· Basic skills in Microsoft Office programs

· Exceptional customer service and communication skills

· Punctuality and clean work appearance

· Positive can-do attitude

· Diligence to detail

· Team builder, a person who can work well with and within a team

· Ability to socialize with staff and members

· Willingness to learn and grow

· Experience with golf or working on golf courses preferred but not required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Outside and partial outside work environment, ability to work in weather

· Environment can be loud, busy, high-action service-points

· Ability to interact with dozens of employees and potentially hundreds of members per day during height of season

· Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach, walk, stand, stoop, climb stairs, balance and/or crouch

· Continuous repetitive motions

· Push, pull and lift 50 pounds

· Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations
