Our Assisted Living Community is currently seeking a full time ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT SERVICES who will embody the passion and commitment required to continue our reputation of providing the gold standard of excellence in assisted living.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT SERVICES - FULL TIME

TUESDAY-SATURDAY, 8:30AM-5:00PM

ON CALL ROTATION EVERY 4 WEEKS

SALARY RANGE - $68,000-$74,000, BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

REQUIREMENTS:

Current, valid New York State License (LPN). Minimum 2 years LPN experience, preferably with the geriatric population. Minimum of one year supervisoryexperience with the geriatric population. Basic First Aid Training required. Excellent nursing skills and supervisory ability. Must be able to multi-task, triage problems, organize, plan and direct the Wellness Office.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for assisting the Director of Resident Services with all medical issues as well as interacting with families and staffing issues. Supervise LPN Supervisors, Medication Aides

and Resident Care Coordinators. In the absence of the Director of Resident Services, the Assistant Director of Resident Services will be in charge of the day to day flow of Wellness.

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT SERVICES

BUILDING ROUNDS:

Checking on Medication Aides during med passes (Are they signing the MAR, carrying walkies and administering medications correctly and with confidentiality?)

Checking on RCC’s (Are they carrying walkies, signing the dining room census, delivering meal trays and providing escorts as necessary?)

Ensuring that all books are completed and without missing endorsements, (MAR, attestation, TX, Insulin, Injection, etc.).

Ensuring all tasks are completed (tests ordered, assignments, family and resident follow-through).

Day to day management of flow in Wellness including treatments, injections and blood pressure.

Advise Director when completed tasks are given, (i.e. – obtaining U/A, B/W and results).

Monitor LPN Supervisors, Medication Aides and RCC’s work performance and follow-through.

Sets up charts for new admissions and ensures all paperwork is completed.

Completes first check on MARs on one book and second on another and assists with Enriched Pathways books.

Audits case notes, ensures that LPN Supervisors are documenting hospital transfers, incident reports, doctor’s visits, etc.

Ensures LPN Supervisors, Medication Aides and RCC’s are completing daily tasks in a timely manner.

Monitors meal breaks for all Wellness staff and ensures adequate coverage during breaks; adjusting when necessary.

Coordinate pacemaker check with the hospital.

Responsible to send the updated MARS to the pharmacy.
