The As Needed Substitute Child Care Worker is responsible for upholding the BGCCNH mission, interacting with members, and ensuring the health and safety of the members while supporting outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. Some key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): engaging and supervising members, assisting staff to maintain classroom and program organization and cleanliness, and completing tasks that may be asked by the supervisor or lead staff person. The ability to develop working relationships with both adults and children is paramount for this position. This position is available at multiple locations.

Duties

Prepare Youth for Success

1. Assists in promoting and stimulating program participation.

2. Assists in orienting new members to the Club.

3. Assists in providing guidance and role modeling to members.

4. Uses positive child guidance strategies.

5. Actively engages children in developmentally appropriate activities.

Program Development and Implementation

1.Assists full-time staff members with the implementation and administration of programs, services, and

activities for members.

2.Helps to create a warm, caring environment to support members and adults.

3. Assists in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining space well-being and upkeep.

4.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to motivate youth.

Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications in order to meet Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.

Must submit to mandatory state childcare trainings (total of 11 hours).

Must be willing to travel to different locations based on the staffing needs of the Club.

Must be willing to work on call or as-needed basis.

All of the candidates that are offered a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status

This position may require prolonged periods of standing; some lifting and/or pushing up to 50 lbs. may be required.

Benefits
