Half-Time Art Enrichment (K-8) + Half-Time Music Enrichment Instructor (K-8).

Because we are a very small school, we are offering this position to one person. We envision this as an opportunity for our kids to have Art enrichment and Music enrichment once a week (ten classrooms). We would love to hire someone who is creative in designing activities and lessons that integrate with our STEM program.

Description: Discovery Charter School serves students in grade K-8 and serves 220 students. In person class size ranges from 15-22 students.

Qualifications:

• Issued appropriate teaching license by the State of Minnesota. Preference given to individuals with K-12 Art Education license. Other licenses (K-6) or combination of licenses will be considered, including Tier I.
• Strong interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively with students, parents, district staff and community members
• Understanding of how to utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities
• Ability to evaluate student performance through formative and summative mechanisms and use this data to foster student learning
• Excellent organizational skills, as well as oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to explore and create new design opportunities for students in Art.

Preferred Licenses:

Elementary Education, K-12 Art, K-12 Music, or Tier I
