After School Program Aide

Start date: Immediately upon completion of hiring procedures

Hours: M-F; 10:00 – 6:00 p.m. (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch)

Full time: 27.5 hours per week

Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June)

Starting hourly wage based on education and experience: $15.76 – $20.03

General Description: The job of the After School Program Aide is to work with students in grades TK-8 under the supervision of the After School Program Director. After School Program Aides provide supervision and support to students meeting the needs of the whole child by ministering the love of Christ through a spiritually nurturing environment, high quality care, and homework help. The ASP Aide will plan and facilitate weekly interactive and engaging activities that are fun and beneficial for social, spiritual, and academic development.

Requirements: Experience is preferred, but not required. The applicant must show willingness and ability to comply with and execute all components contained in the job description and be willing to receive specialized training for his/her position.

  • Strongly preferred: Experience working with children in a group setting.
  • Necessary qualities: promptness, reliability, team player, servant heart, positive attitude

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare materials and equipment for after school instructional activities.

2. Create, plan, and facilitate engaging enrichment activities that focus on core program areas e.g. education, arts, sports, character development.

3. Provide homework assistance and academic support for students K-8.

4. Implement weekly lesson plans and theme events.

5. Supervise outdoor recreation.
