Provides administrative support for the WIC program and Medical Records. Serves as receptionist as needed and provides assistance for other areas as needed and/or assigned.

Responsibility for the medical records department keeping abreast of policy and procedure. Reviews reports, complies reports, assists in auditing of records, files documents, responds to records requests, purges records yearly and completes the archiving process in CARES.


Assists with administrative duties for PPNBHV program.


Administrative support for the Preventive Health program. Meets, interviews, and directs public health clients. Enters all client information into CARES/HER, Private Pay, and TBCIS. Schedules appointments as needed.


Provides WIC patient services and obtains appropriate information and screens for eligibility.


Utilizes all components of the WIC computer program. Issues food instruments per program policies and procedures.


Serving as receptionist, distributing mail. Attends staff conferences and in-services as assigned.


State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: High school diploma and medical office/clinical experience which includes public contact. An associate degree or higher may be substituted for experience.

DHEC employees are required to participate in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather or declaration of an emergency. This involves being subject to duty and or call on a 24-hour basis.
You must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable transportation.
This position may require working early (before 8:30 am), evening (after 5:00 pm) and/or Saturday's.
Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time, if required.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: All new employees who are healthcare providers with job-specific exposure risk are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

Our Public Health Workforce Protection Policy requires healthcare staff with job-specific exposure risk to be fully vaccinated or alternatively, tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis.
