Job description

St. Mark, Catonsville is seeking candidates for a part-time Administrative Assistant. Under the leadership of the Office Manager, provides administrative support to the parish staff. This leader must possess and maintain an understanding of the Mission of the Catholic Church and of the Parish, and bring that understanding to bear in all considerations and decisions made within the scope of the essential functions listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes all visitors, determine nature of their business, directs them to the appropriate office or individual.
  • Answers all telephone calls, determine nature of their business, directs them to the appropriate office or individual. If the person is not available, takes a message and puts a copy in the mailbox.
  • Receives and distributes all mail, UPS and other deliveries to the appropriate offices and individuals.
  • Weddings: ensures all paperwork is in order
  • Schedule Liturgical Ministries using Ministry Platform and Ministry Scheduler Pro
  • Maintain Sacramental Records. Help maintain Parish Database
  • Help maintain Parish Website, as needed
  • Assist with bank deposits as required
  • Offer administrative support to staff as needed

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates for this position must be well rounded in experience, familiar with general office administration functions.
  • Candidates should also have general computer and other office machine experience.
  • Candidates must be self-starters, able to work with minimal supervision, have considerable attention to detail and able to discuss the status of projects with people with various levels of expertise
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
