Marsh is seeking candidates to join our Marsh McLennan (MMC) Controllership Team as an Accounting Manager based in Milan, who will be responsible for the preparation and management of all monthly and annual financial reporting for the Italian consulting services companies (4 legal entities of which one SIM) and support to the senior director in other corporate or local activities related to the other Risk and Insurance Services (“RIS”) companies (4 legal entities).

We will count on you to:


1. Ensure that financial results for local legal entities are accurate. Oversee and be responsible for the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, all statutory fillings and local tax matters, support the transfer pricing document preparation in cooperation with tax consultant. P&L and Balance sheet are also in accordance with US GAAP. Ensure that all reconciliations (done by HUB center) are completed in a timely fashion.

2. Responsible for the effective operational management of a team of 3 people, looking at capacity planning, prioritization, career development and staff well-being. Positive attitude, inclusive working style and effective communication skills are essential.

3. The role will require a strong connection with Warsaw & Witham team (HUB’s centres) to ensure strong stakeholder engagement, Hub relationship management, review of processes and controls necessary to ensure smooth operations between the country and the hub.

4. Provide assistance to local Management / Boards on local projects and regulatory and statutory / tax responsibilities.
Liaises with internal and external auditors and subject matter experts.

5. Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed and looking to establish strong efficient process and compliance to policies. A solid ability to document and evaluate processes, systems and compliance is required including a mindset for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with the Internal Control System – SOX.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of overall professional experience.
  • Understanding of Oracle, Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft
  • Experience with insurance practice accounting and in Big 4 will be considered a plus;
  • Technical proficiency in US GAAP, local requirements and legislation;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English;
  • High comfort and tolerance to manage stress and role demands
