Production Line Workers

The CertainTeed facility in Winder, GA Gypsum plant manufactures drywall finishing products. We work hard together and to create an environment that teaches our employees manufacturing skills.

We are looking to train energetic dedicated team members to join our family. We offer training and on the job experience that will help you hone your skills in manufacturing.

Shifts Offered: 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday 11:30pm-8:00am

Compensation: Starting wage $18.50 + shift differential

Additional Bonus: Immediately eligible to participate in additional quarterly bonus program

Job Details:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs clean up and utility work including but not limited to painting and marking, grounds maintenance, stacking, sorting, wrapping and organizing finished products, raw materials and supplies.
• Assists in unloading incoming raw materials from trucks used in the production of ready mix and dry joint compound. Stacks the raw materials in the designated raw material storage areas.
• Stuffs plastic bags into cartons, or operates bag inserter, and place sand fills pails onto packaging line. Operates fill station, case sealer, or hand ties containers to seal product.
• Operates dry packing equipment to fill and code bags to correct weights. Accurately records product produced. Clears jammed containers and cleans all spills in a timely manner.
• Performs daily quality testing on all finished products and incoming loads of calcium carbonate and latex.
• Maintains a safe work environment, recognizes unsafe conditions and practices, and makes corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.
• Participates in required trainings as directed
• Assists in the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSK)

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Ability to lift 62 lbs repeatedly is required.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
• Able to work outdoors during varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extend periods of time
• Minimum English language competency to adequately preform duties and responsibilities (written & verbal).

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiar with safety programs in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with production equipment
• Experience following protocols and procedures.
• Ability to communicate within a team environment.
• Ability to train and retrieve technical information in a fast paced environment.
• Safety shoes are required on production floor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• MUST be capable of lifting 62 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in a non climate controlled environment.
